Game Warden Raymond B. Heacock, serving with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, tragically lost his life on December 11, 1916. He was patrolling the waters near Bouldin Island in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta alongside Game Warden Richard Squire when they were both fatally shot.
