Superior Court Judge Harold Joseph Haley, aged 66, tragically lost his life on August 7, 1970, in San Rafael, California, during a violent incident at the Marin County Civic Center. Judge Haley was taken hostage in his courtroom by Jonathan Jackson, a 17-year-old who aimed to free the Soledad Brothers, including his older brother George Jackson.
