Death by Force

On February 8, 1978, at approximately 2 a.m., 28-year-old Rick Allen Smoot was fatally shot outside 244 Ninth Street in San Francisco. A San Francisco police officer discovered Smoot at the scene and arranged for his transport to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
