On April 29, 2024, at approximately 9:33 p.m., San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation near Third Street and Quesada Avenue in the Bayview District. Upon arrival, they discovered Charles "CeCe" Lawrence, 42, suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers and paramedics administered life-saving measures before transporting him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
