Detective Michael Lee Lane, aged 31, tragically lost his life on December 13, 1979, in Whittier, California. Detective Lane was engaged in an undercover operation at a cocktail lounge located at 12808 Whittier Boulevard. He was investigating a motorcycle theft and had accompanied the victim to the lounge as part of the operation.
