Anthony Quismondo, a 42-year-old resident of Stockton, California, tragically lost his life on July 3, 2019. The incident occurred on East Waterloo Road, where Quismondo was attempting to sell shoes. During this transaction, he was confronted by Alejandro Ruvalcaba, 32, and Louie Angulo, 37, who attempted to rob him. The situation quickly escalated, resulting in Ruvalcaba shooting Quismondo.
Despite his efforts to flee the scene, Quismondo crashed his car a short distance away and succumbed to his injuries.
The aftermath of the shooting led to an extensive manhunt for Ruvalcaba, who was eventually apprehended after an hours-long standoff at the La Quinta Inn in Stockton. Ruvalcaba was charged with multiple offenses, including murder, robbery, and various firearm-related charges. Additionally, he faced a special circumstance charge for committing the murder during an attempted robbery. Angulo, who was also involved in the robbery attempt, was charged with attempted robbery and faced additional charges due to his prior criminal record.

Angulo, on the other hand, was held on a $500,000 bail.
