On the night of October 10, 2020, Antoine Crowder, a 44-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot in Baltimore, Maryland. The incident occurred around 2:21 a.m. on Erdman Avenue, where he was found and pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Crowder, born on August 3, 1976, was a father to four daughters and a grandfather of three. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit, he ran a business selling cars.
He was a devoted family man, having remarried in 2018 after the passing of his first wife in 2014, creating a blended family with eight children.
The investigation into Antoine Crowder's death led to the identification of two suspects. In connection with the murder, Kevin Hall, 34 years old at the time of sentencing, and his co-defendant, 40-year-old Terrell Carter, were implicated. The two were reportedly in a Hyundai Elantra and pulled up alongside the Acura Legend that Crowder was in with three other people in a parking lot outside The Garden Bar on the 4800 block of Erdman Avenue. An occupant of the Elantra then opened fire on the Acura, resulting in Crowder's death.
In August 2023, Kevin Hall was sentenced to 18 years of incarceration for his role in the murder. He had accepted a plea offer in May of that year for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. The sentence also included five years of supervised probation and a concurrent 15 years, with the first five years without parole, for firearm use in the commission of a violent crime. As part of his sentence, Hall will be required to register as a gun offender upon his release. At his sentencing, Hall stated, 'I take full responsibility for what happened.'
