John Arthur Adair, a 31-year-old officer with the Oxnard Police Department, tragically lost his life on October 7, 1980, while responding to a domestic dispute. Officer Adair was shot and killed during the incident. Despite being mortally wounded, he and his partner managed to return fire, ultimately killing the suspect.
