Carlos Martinez, a 37-year-old resident of Oxnard, California, tragically lost his life on January 1, 2019. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. on New Year's Day, when Oxnard police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of West Date Street. Upon arrival, officers found Martinez lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
