Jack Dean Hayden, a 40-year-old police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, tragically lost his life on October 10, 1982, in Long Beach, California. Officer Hayden was off duty at the time of his death, which occurred under harrowing circumstances. He was attempting to assist a neighbor who was experiencing a mental health crisis.
