Jon Charles Hellyar, aged 30, tragically lost his life on January 12, 1983, in Santa Rosa, California. His death was the result of a brutal murder committed by the infamous serial killers, Suzan and Michael Carson, also known as the "San Francisco Witch Killers." The Carsons, who were on the run and hitchhiking, were picked up by Hellyar near Bakersfield while he was on his way to Santa Rosa.
