Robert James Davey Jr., a 33-year-old officer with the Alameda Police Department, tragically lost his life on March 3, 1983, while assisting in a drug raid. Officer Davey had just completed his regular shift when he volunteered to help his colleagues with the operation. Positioned at the rear of the targeted home, he was not initially part of the raiding team but stepped in at the last moment to provide support.
