Chari McCline, a 14-year-old girl from Oakland, California, tragically lost her life on September 1, 1987. The incident occurred when Chari returned home unexpectedly and interrupted a burglary in progress at her stepfather's apartment. The perpetrator, her 18-year-old stepbrother Ernest Morgan, was caught in the act and, in a panic, shot and killed Chari.
