Morell Booze, a 29-year-old Black man, was shot in broad daylight on October 10, 2016, in northwest Baltimore’s Central Park Heights neighborhood. Police were called just after 2 p.m. to the 3700 block of Beehler Avenue, near Beaufort Avenue, for a report of a shooting, and they arrived to find him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body.
He was rushed to a hospital in grave condition, but he died a short time later, leaving detectives to reconstruct what happened in the moments before the gunfire. By the next day, police publicly identified the victim as Booze, turning a sudden, daytime attack into a homicide investigation that unfolded with more questions than answers.
In the immediate aftermath, authorities did not announce any arrests or name a suspect, instead leaning on the community for leads.
