On a tragic Tuesday morning in Baltimore, the life of Kwame Cheeks, a 28-year-old Black man, was violently cut short. On May 9, 2017, Cheeks became a victim of a fatal shooting, an event that unfolded in the early hours and added to a year marked by significant violence in the city.
