His body was discovered in an alley behind his home in the 1900 block of Griffis Avenue, where he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting is believed to have occurred around 1:30 a.m., though he was not found until approximately 5:25 a.m.
The incident was part of a particularly violent day in Baltimore that saw a total of four homicides.
Family and friends remembered Michael as a man with a 'huge heart' and a 'friendly, laid-back personality.' He was a devoted father to his young child and was known as someone who would always be there to help others. His death left a profound void in the lives of his loved ones, including his parents, siblings, and extended family.
The investigation into Michael's murder has been a source of immense frustration for his family.
