Sherman Jr. Carrothers, age 42, was fatally shot on February 8, 2017, in Baltimore, Maryland. On the night of the incident, Carrothers had just returned home after visiting his mother, when he interrupted a burglary in progress at his residence on the 2800 block of Kirk Avenue. Upon entering his home, he was confronted by the burglars, who opened fire. Carrothers was shot four times, with the fatal bullet striking as he attempted to flee out the front door.
