Paul Robert Bush, a 37-year-old Deputy Sheriff with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life on September 12, 1990, in San Jose, California. Deputy Bush was conducting a routine traffic stop near the intersection of Scott Street and Chiechi Avenue at approximately 11:20 p.m. During the stop, as he was checking the driver's license of the individual he had pulled over, the suspect suddenly opened fire.
