On February 29, 2024, at approximately 1:18 a.m., San Jose police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of Park Lane Plaza, located in the 5100 block of Moorpark Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Jose Luis Rodriguez inside a vehicle, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
