Payton Beroit was tragically killed on August 5, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. He was shot three times while sitting in a white Toyota Supra parked outside a car wash on South Central Avenue. This incident was part of a broader pattern of gang violence in South Los Angeles during that period. Beroit, along with his friend Donald Ray Loggins, was targeted in a drive-by shooting orchestrated by Cleamon "Big Evil" Johnson, a notorious leader of the 89 Family Bloods gang.
