Death by Force

On October 22, 2016, 17-year-old D'Kai Juwan Vanlandingham was shot and killed in Baltimore, Maryland. The shooting took place in the 3400 block of Juneway, a neighborhood that has seen its share of violence over the years. D'Kai was found at the scene with gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward. His death was one among the many tragic incidents of youth violence that continued to plague Baltimore in 2016, contributing to a rising number of homicides in the city.
