On January 12, 2017, Domonique Thaniel, a 37-year-old resident of Baltimore, Maryland, was shot and killed while riding his bicycle. The incident took place in the 3000 block of Barclay Street, a neighborhood in Baltimore's Abell area. Thaniel was fatally shot during a late-night ride, adding to the series of violent deaths that marked the beginning of 2017 in Baltimore.
