On June 13, 2003, Tony Willi Zeppetella, a 27-year-old police officer with the Oceanside Police Department in California, tragically lost his life in the line of duty. The incident occurred during what began as a routine traffic stop in the parking lot of a Navy Federal Credit Union branch. Zeppetella had stopped a vehicle driven by Adrian George Camacho, a known gang member.
