David Canales, a 20-year-old Latino, was tragically shot to death on September 18, 2010, in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. The incident occurred near the intersection of Esperanza and Emery streets. Canales was deejaying a rave party in a parking lot when he got into an argument with an individual.
