Death by Force

Jesus Mireles-Mecinas, a 48-year-old Latino man, was tragically shot in MacArthur Park near West 7th and South Lake streets in the Westlake area of Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 12:05 a.m. on June 11, 2017. Mireles-Mecinas, who was also known as Jose Morales, was found with multiple gunshot wounds near his belongings in the park, where he had apparently been living. He was immediately taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries three days later, on June 14, 2017.
