Rogers, along with another 20-year-old man named Terrill Marquis Thomas, was fatally shot at the scene. A third victim, identified as Thomas' father, Vincent Dean, was critically injured and transported to L.A. County-USC Medical Center.
The victims were reportedly visiting a tenant in the building when the shooting took place. The owner of the triplex, Greg Estel, mentioned that two law students living in another unit narrowly escaped injury when a bullet came through their window and landed in a box of cereal.
