Joseph Ellis Aguilar, a 23-year-old Latino, tragically lost his life on June 17, 2017, following a violent altercation at a family gathering in Pomona, California. The incident occurred late on the night of June 16, around 11:45 p.m., at Aguilar's home located in the 500 block of East McKinley Avenue. According to reports, a fight broke out during the party, escalating quickly when Timothy McKinney, a 19-year-old attendee, drew a firearm and shot Aguilar.
