Melanie Virgen, a 13-year-old girl from Oceanside, California, tragically lost her life on March 13, 2013. Melanie was one of the victims in a deadly shooting at Libby Lake Park, an incident that also claimed the life of 16-year-old Edgar Sanchez Rios. The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. when four teenagers were attacked by gunmen near a makeshift memorial for two other teens who had been killed in the park two years earlier.
