Valeri Hawkins, aged 57, tragically died on May 15, 2014, in Concord, California. The incident occurred when Concord police responded to a call about a woman threatening suicide. Upon arrival, officers found Hawkins, who had a history of mental illness, in a distressed state. She was reportedly holding a gun and threatening to harm herself.
