On July 4, 2014, Kayon Dafney, a 24-year-old resident of Long Beach, California, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in an alley located in the 1900 block of East 65th Street. Long Beach Police officers responded to a call of shots fired and found Dafney with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt arrival of paramedics, Dafney was pronounced dead at the scene.
