On January 14, 2015, 24-year-old Jose Ramon Reyes Escobar was tragically killed in Oxnard, California. Early that morning, around 5:30 a.m., Escobar was sitting in his car, preparing to leave for work. While parked in the 5100 block of Perkins Road, he was shot multiple times. The Oxnard Police Department responded to a shots-fired call and found Escobar in his vehicle, having sustained at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, Escobar succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
