Pete Mendez, a 31-year-old resident of Oxnard, California, tragically lost his life in a drive-by shooting on January 11, 2020. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in the unincorporated community of El Rio, north of Oxnard. At approximately 12:38 a.m., a caller reported gunshots in the 2700 block of Alvarado Street. Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and found Mendez with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital ...
