Chyemil Pierce, a 30-year-old mother of three, tragically lost her life on March 9, 2015, in Oakland, California. Pierce was caught in the crossfire of a gun battle that erupted on Chestnut Street in West Oakland. The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. as Pierce was returning home with her children after picking them up from school.
