On August 30, 2023, Angela Cummings, a 40-year-old resident of Richmond, California, was fatally shot in Oakland. The incident occurred in the parking lot of an event center on Linden Street, where Cummings was attending a memorial service for 22-year-old Tahmon Wilson, who had been fatally shot by Martinez police earlier that month.
