According to the Los Angeles County coroner's records, Jackson was walking on the sidewalk near a family member's home when he was approached by two men. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and seeing the suspects flee in a dark-colored Infiniti car. Jackson was found with plastic bags of water and groceries nearby, indicating he was returning from a convenience store. He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead at 8:29 p.m. due to multiple gunshot wounds.
