An escaped inmate is later found murdered
On a spring day in 1972, the body of 33-year-old Richard Joseph Albert was discovered in a wooded area off the Maine Turnpike in Saco. It was April 17th, and for Albert, a life on the run had come to a violent end. Months earlier, in November 1971, he and another inmate had escaped from a New Hampshire state prison. Albert had only been incarcerated for two months before his escape.
