Keith Emerson, the renowned keyboardist and founding member of the progressive rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer, passed away on March 10, 2016, at the age of 71 in his Santa Monica, California home. Emerson was found dead by his longtime girlfriend, Mari Kawaguchi, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
