Anwar Badruddin Machiwalla, a beloved community member and co-owner of the Three Palms Grocery store in Stockton, California, tragically lost his life on July 11, 2016, his 63rd birthday. Machiwalla, affectionately known as "Andy," was shot and killed during a robbery at his store on Highway 88. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when an armed man entered the store, demanded money, and subsequently shot Machiwalla as he was leaving.
