Stephanie Faye Gawboy, a 52-year-old resident of Redway, California, was found dead on August 17, 2016. Her body was discovered inside her residence on Redway Drive by a KMUD radio employee, Jordan Jumpshot, who occasionally stayed at her house. Upon entering the home, Jumpshot noticed that the gate was ajar and the door was open, which was unusual. Inside, he found Gawboy lying facedown on her massage table with blood on both sides of her neck. Initially mistaking her for a massage dummy, he soon realized the gravity of the situation and reported it to his employer and Gawboy's neighbor, Jeannette Todd. They subsequently contacted the authorities.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office confirmed Gawboy's identity and launched a homicide investigation. Despite numerous tips and leads, no suspects have been identified in the case. Detective Jenn Turner, who is leading the investigation, has been actively seeking information from anyone who had contact with Gawboy after August 12, 2016.
