Diego Espinoza, a 20-year-old resident of Salinas, California, tragically lost his life on July 24, 2017. Espinoza was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on Paloma Avenue. Despite the efforts of officers who provided CPR until medical personnel arrived, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. The incident was immediately recognized as a gang-related shooting, a common issue in the area, which has seen numerous young Latino men fall victim to such violence.
