On the night of April 4, 2016, 16-year-old Jose Luis Valdez was tragically shot and killed in Salinas, California. Valdez had just left a home and was walking to meet friends when he was confronted by at least two gunmen on the 800 block of Garner Avenue. The assailants unleashed a barrage of bullets, striking Valdez as he attempted to flee.
