Deandre Adams, a 22-year-old resident of Oakland, California, tragically lost his life on August 25, 2017. The incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. when Adams was driving on Olive Street between 88th and 90th avenues. He was shot multiple times while in his vehicle. Despite his efforts to escape, Adams staggered out of his car, leaving a trail of blood, and made his way to a nearby driveway.
An off-duty emergency medical technician attempted to assist him, but Adams succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Highland Hospital later that day.
The investigation into Adams' death led to the arrest and subsequent conviction of Troy Seales. Seales, who was 30 years old at the time, was found guilty of first-degree murder in April 2018. During the trial, it was revealed that Seales had a history of criminal activity, including nine prior convictions. The prosecution presented compelling evidence, including video surveillance footage, phone records, physical evidence, and witness statements, which collectively pointed to Seales as the perpetrator. One key piece of testimony came from Seales' ex-girlfriend, who provided crucial information to the police after discovering Seales' infidelity.
