On September 24, 2017, Jose Escobedo Ortega, a 20-year-old resident of Pittsburg, California, was tragically shot and killed in City Park. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. while Escobedo Ortega was hanging out and listening to music. The Pittsburg Police Department responded swiftly, arriving on the scene within 90 seconds of receiving the call.
