Brandon Pakeman, a 20-year-old resident of San Leandro, was tragically found dead in West Oakland on October 29, 2017. His body was discovered by police officers responding to a ShotSpotter activation around 1:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of 8th Street. Pakeman had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding his presence in West Oakland and the motive for his killing remain unclear.
