David Van Nguyen, a 28-year-old recruit for the Alameda County Sheriff's Department, tragically lost his life on January 4, 2022, in Oakland, California. Nguyen was driving his personal vehicle, a black Prius, on the westbound I-580 connector ramp to westbound I-80 when he was fatally shot by an unknown assailant.
