Daesjhon Grayson

Daesjhon Grayson, a 30-year-old Black/African American man, was shot and killed in Oakland on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025. Just before midnight, officers were called to the 600 block of 16th Street near Jefferson Street in the Uptown area, where they found him with a fatal gunshot wound. He died at the scene. Earlier that same day, the city had already recorded another homicide, underscoring a violent 24-hour stretch downtown that also included a predawn shooting near the Fox Theater.
