Tylee Matthews, a 24-year-old man, was shot and killed on September 29, 2015, in East Oakland, California. The incident occurred around 3:46 p.m. on Birch Street in a neighborhood often impacted by gun violence. Matthews was standing on the street when an unknown assailant approached him and opened fire, leaving him dead at the scene.
