Ryan, along with his girlfriend Giovanna "Gigi" Giannini, was attending the Rolling Loud Bay Area hip-hop festival. Their outing took a devastating turn when they were found fatally shot inside a silver Ford Focus that had crashed into a house on Douglas Avenue in East Oakland.
The police were called to the scene after the car crash, but upon arrival, they discovered both Ryan and Giovanna had been shot in the head.
The investigation into their deaths led to the arrest of Keith Riley, a 36-year-old man, who was charged with the murders of Ryan and Giovanna. Riley faced charges of felony murder during the course of a robbery and multiple murders, which could result in the death penalty or a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Additionally, Riley was charged with second-degree robbery of Ryan Wasilausky.
