On June 10, 2024, 17-year-old Jahhoury McGlothin was fatally shot in Oakland, California. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on the 1300 block of 102nd Avenue in East Oakland. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation shortly after 2 a.m. and discovered McGlothin, along with 18-year-old Julian Barnes, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, both victims succumbed to their injuries.
