In the late evening hours of Saturday, September 11, 2010, the vibrant life of Dale 'Cocky' Alexander, a 34-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short on the streets of New Orleans. Alexander was riding his motorcycle near the intersection of Marais and Louisa Streets in the Bywater neighborhood when the distinct sound of gunfire shattered the night's calm around 9:30 p.m. He was struck by multiple bullets, ending his life in a sudden act of violence.
